Can I do any shopping at the pier?
A:

There is a limited number of souvenir items on sale at the pier and it might not be the best shopping experience. We also recommend you to prepare in advance things that are hard to get at the port, such as camera battery, clothing items, shoes, sanitary pads, to name a few.

Q:
Do I need to book Spa service in advance?
A:

For on board Spa service, you can book at the point of check in. It is fine, though not necessary, to make advanced reservation.

Q:
Can infants join the cruise tour?
A:

For safety reason we recommend that infants older than 9 months old can join the cruise trip. While at sea, the healthcare service is very limited and the conditions may not be best for infants. We also recommend that you prepare food for your infant if she or he need special formulas since it is not readily available on board.

Q:
When should I arrive at the pier?
A:

If you do not travel with us on the shuttle bus, it is advisable that you are at the waiting hall at 11:30AM or earlier for efficient check in and boarding process.

What forms of payment do you accept for tour deposit?
A:

We currently accept major credit cards such as Visa, Master and Amex for deposit only.

How can I cancel a cruise tour online?

What is a booking ID?
A:

A booking ID is a unique series of number assigned to you from the time you make booking until your cruise ends. It will help us identify you and your records easily as well as gives you easy access to our support service. The booking ID is mentioned in both the booking form and in the confirmation voucher.

Q:
What type of clothing should I bring for a cruise trip?
A:

If you are travel from March - September, light clothing is suggested since it is very hot. You can also bring swim suits if you intend to go swimming. If you travel from October - December, the weather is mild and not yet cold and you can just dress casually. From late December to mid February, it can be very humid and cold, and it is advisable that you bring some jackets along.

What type of ground transportation is used?
A:

To travel from Hanoi to Halong Bay and back you can either book a seat on the shuttle bus run by the cruise company or arrange private transport with us. Shuttle bus is usually in the form of 16 seat mivivan (Ford Transit or Toyota Hiace) or 29 seat. You can also book private sedan or SUV if you prefer to have your own vehicle.

Why am I asked for my travel information in advance?
A:

We normally collect travel information after we send you the confirmation voucher. This is for registration on board, required by Halong Bay authority in an effort to manager tourism there well. All information such as passport number and visa expiry date must be submitted to us at least 3 days prior to your trip date or else your trip may risk being cancelled.

Q:
What if I have booked Early Bird promotion and need to adjust the trip details?
A:

The condition of change and cancellation was listed very carefully at the time of confirmation. You can check your own voucher and email response for this condition since it varies from case to case. Normally, cancellation is not allowed in case of Early Bird savings.

Q:
What documents do I need when I take a cruise trip?
A:

For a cruise trip, it's a mandatory that you can submit a valid passport and visa (if applicable). You should also print a copy of the voucher with you which lists the details of your trip and the contact number in case you need.

You will be asked for your passport after you get on board, by the receptionist or the cruise manager. This is done for registration purpose for overnight cruise only.

Any guests who cannot provide valid documentations may run the risk of refusing boarding and we take no responsibility in this case.

Can I use my cellphone on board?
A:

There are weak signals on board and you can still use your phone fine, except when you visit caves.

Can I have a copy of sample meal onboard?
A:

Each cruise has different meals. For a copy of most recent menu of the cruise you are interested please email us: booking@cruisehalongbay.com

Is there fitness equipment on the ship?
A:

 Since most junks in Halong Bay are smaller in size in order to visit caves; not all are equipped with fitness equipment. Of all cruises only Paradise Peak has fitness equipment on board.

Any items that we should not bring on board?
A:

Passengers are warned against bringing the following items on board:

- Alcohol / beer/ wine/ champagne

- Irons / Electrical appliances

- Candles and inflammables

- Weapons/ Knives/ Scissors

Q:
Is there any luggage limit for a Halong cruise trip?
A:

There is no official limit for baggage but we strongly recommend you to travel light so that you do not need to worry about taking care of your belongings as you travel. Since the cabin in most cruise is limited in size, travel with more than 2 suitcases might take a bit of your space as well. You can leave the luggage with your hotel in Hanoi and take a small day pack and personal belongings to the cruise.
